I have a lot to tell you. First of all I must tell you this funny story about Kole and his dad. I have to give you a little background information first though. Kole has to drink a lot of water. In fact, he probably drinks about 56 oz. of water a day. That is a lot for a five year old. Consequently, he has to go to the restroom quite frequently and when he has to go he has to go now. Anyway, we were getting ready for church yesturday and we were eating breakfast. Steve had this huge plastic cup filled with cereal. He had just taken a large bite and Kole says non-chalantly, "I think I peed in that cup when I was with grandpa." You should have seen Steve's face. It was quite funny. Just before we walked out the door we made the kids use the restroom. Steve says, "Something smells like pee in here." As quick as can be Kole says, " I bet its your cup." There were a couple of the same cups, so it could have been a different one. Needless to say we have thrown them all away. I must say I have quite the little ham on my hands.
Kole is doing great. Like we have said he is healed. Kole, Steve, and I are going back to Memphis on February 8&9. On the 9th, he will be having another lumbar puncture and the MRI. Steve and I are excited to see God's miracle. We know KOle is healed from the tumors. We are now praying that He will do the ultimate miracle and all the signs of radiation, chemo, and surgery will be gone from the MRI. We are asking for a day of prayer for Kole on Thursday, February 8 starting at 11:45 through February 9 until 2:00. This is 24 hours from the start of his MRI. If you would like to take some time during those days, here are a few things we are thankful for: for healing KOle from the tumors, helping him cope with the new food regiment, giving him his hair back, his pituitary gland seems to be doing just fine, his coordination continues to improve, no sickness, strength to take the protocel and vitamins all the time, his confidence is coming back, he IQ test showed improvements in the areas of short term memmory and processing skills (a concern with radiation), the wonderful support of friends and family, and for the doctors who God is working with. We have so much more to be thankful for.
I have been reading a lot of books about prayer. A couple of things have really stuck to me. Here is one. A pastor by the name of Jim Cymbala was struggling in a church in Brooklyn. He began to pray and God spoke to him and said, "If you call upon me, I have promised in my word to answer, to bring the unsaved to life, and to pour out my spirit." Because of this he told his church that the prayer meeting on Tuesday was the barometer of the church. It will be the gauge to determine the success or failure of the church. This is what another pastor who was visiting this church said in reference to this comment, "You can tell how popular a church is by who comes on Sunday morning. You can tell how popular a pastor is by who comes on Sunday evening. You can tell how popular Jesus is by who comes to prayer meeting." Needless to say, his church started with a congregation of 20 and now it is more than 8000 members strong.
This church came to my sisters mind back in October when we first learned that the tumors had returned. My sister called this church and told Kole's story. They pledged to pray for Kole for 30 days 24 hours straight. One of the pastors even called my sister to find out how Kole and the family were doing. I was quite touched.
If you think about it, we are so blessed that GOd loves us so much that we are even worthy enough to be able to talk to him and have a personal relationship with him. In the old testament, only one priest, once and year, was able to enter God's most holy place. And before he could do this he had to be cleansed from his sins with a sacrifice of a bull, a ram, insense, etc. Now we can, any one of us,because we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus. I think that is pretty awesome. We are worthy of talking with God and asking whatever.
Anyway, I just thought I would share some of the cool things that God is doing in our lives. We are truly blessed.
Love,
The Kellers
